COMICS ARTIST |
tegneseries rammer.
Her skrev
han bl.a. tegneseriehæftet Piraterne. Den gyldne mønt, som udkom i
agent/action-serie Bravo Tango.
konkurrence. Det blev dog ved dette ene forsøg.
I 1994 udkom hans fantasy/detektivroman Kæmpeøglerne angriber,
I 1982 blev Per Sanderhage tildelt Science Fiction Cirklens illustratorpris. |
Per Sanderhage was
born in 1952. At 18 he began to draw comics and in the
beginning of the 1970s was working as an editorial assistant for the publishers
Interpresse. Since 1980 he has been employed by the Copenhagen Press Agency PIB Copenhagen, working as
editor, translator, writer and artist.
In 1980-83 he wrote the daily strip version of Carla & Vilhelm Hansens childrens series Petzi (Rasmus
Klump). At the same time he worked as author, collaborating with producer Henning Kure and artist Orla Klausen, on the historical comic The
Scyldings (Skjoldungerne), which was published as an album in 1983. This
work was a thrilling interpretation of the background of the old Nordic Scylding Saga in a
Danish peasant society.
In 1983 he temporarily replaced Ole Munk Rasmussen as artist and Jens Peder Agger as
writer on the daily strip Felix, in a style far from that of the
strips creator, Jan Lööf. In this personal and brilliant Felix
episode, Felix and the Extraterrestrials (Felix og de overjordiske),
Felix becomes a supporting character, while the gods Thor and Amor have roles as the most
mismatched and at the same time humourous heroic pair in this comic. That Sanderhage
managed to tell a current, relevant science fiction story at the same time did not detract
from the work. The episode was published as an album in 1984.
Together with PIB Copenhagens then chief editor Paul Schiøtt and artist Gil, Sanderhage created the charming, humourous and
clever mouse story Little Town of Copenhagen (Kjøwenhavnstrup) in 1987
for the daily newspaper B.T. It was published as an album in 1988. That
same year, Per Sanderhage and Peter G.
Heydenreichs sweeping detective parody, the daily strip Colt,
began to appear in B.T. It has since been released in two albums.
In the middle of the 1980s, Per Sanderhage was associated with a discontinued comics
project for the LEGO toy company. He wrote, among others, the comic book The Pirates: The
Golden Sovereign (Piraterne: Den gyldne mønt), which was published in
1989. The charming and expressive drawings were executed by Vincente and Eduardo Vaño.
Since 1992, the same team of artists has made good use of Sanderhages manuscripts
for PIB Copenhagens daily action strip Bravo Tango.
In 1991 Per Sanderhage collaborated as writer on the publisher Tellerups Slime no. 7
(Slim nr. 7). He has also conceived and/or drawn countless cartoons and
has produced illustrations for crossword puzzles, short stories and editorial material
from PIB Copenhagen In 1984 he was a contributor to the satirical yearbook The Viper (Hugormen),
the publisher Borgens attempt to give the now classic Danish yearbooks The Vicious
Circle (Svikmøllen) and The Octopus (Blæksprutten)
some competition. Only one edition of Hugormen was produced. Since 1993
he has been a contribitor to Svikmøllen. And contributed in 1996 to the
graphic novel Gerner Schmidt.
1999 he wrote the book PIB
Copenhagen 100.
Per Sanderhage has also written short stories and several novels within the fantasy,
science fiction and detective genres. In 1982 he was awarded the Science Fiction
Circles Illustrator Prize. |
