Film 2: Lola
Tyskland, 1998
Spillelængde: 87 min. |
"Lola"
meget mere end historien. Dens originale fortælleform tager tilskueren ved næsen mange
gange.
Sundance Filmfestivalen i 1998.
The film is set in
present-day Berlin and is an action detective film about the girl, Lola, who has to save
her shady boyfriend from a cruel fate, if she wants to keep him...which she does!
Therefore she has 20 minutes to find the 100.000 DM which he has to pay at 12 o'clock. -
Lola does a lot of running around, and one of her first stops is with her father, who is a
bank manager, and who has a surprise in store for her. After this Lola is driven to
despair. But there is much
more to the film than the plot. The audience is often taken in by its peculiar narrative
style, as the film, at a dynamic speed, is balancing between camera movement adjusted to
Lola's running about and alternating real film, animation, and video.
The film won the audience prize
at The Sundance Film festival in 1998.
The director, Tom Tykwer, is very
popular in his native country, Germany, and is considered as a coming star of German film.
